About Rod

Rod grew up in a mining community in North Nottinghamshire.  He came to Cambridge some 25 years ago to study architecture at St Catharine’s College.  he has lived in the city since then, initially in Petersfield, then Trumpington and Newnham.

Rod was elected a Newnham ward city councillor in 2004 and became executive councillor for Customer Services and Resources in 2006.  In addition, Rod is the City Council’s Design Champion promoting good quality design across the city.  he also represents the City Council on Love Cambridge, the new city centre partnership.

Professionally, Rod has pursued a career in finance, since 2002 owning and running a financial advisory business.  He is also a trustee of the Cambridge homeless charity Wintercomfort for the Homeless.
